The early moment wasn’t as hard as I thought. No seniors around except for bro Rafique n Lut, no MMS among the newcomers just a mini one among the pre-TESL students. Such a pleasant to have my roommates – Mad, Ame n Pidot. They are friendly and approachable which I think is good for my mental through the year.
The first week is filled with laughter. Wasn’t because of smart jokes but we enjoy making fun of somebody who is slight different from us. I mean the ‘softlans’. We made fun of him at the back quite a lot. We mimed his voice, the acts. Man it’s totally fun. But somehow he realizes it all and it followed up with some slow talk.
I was randomly put in the PTSL 1A. Luckily my class’ schedule doesn’t stress me a lot. Like the other classes, they have more than 3 classes a day and some of it end as late as 6.30 pm. Goshh. Roughly we just had ice-breaking with our lecturers this week. I learnt an idion throughout the earlier classes. “As boring as Miss Juritah” =D. I don’t have the idea of how she passed the staff’s interview the early day.
Been in a boarding school helps me a lot to adapt my surrounding here. I’m not facing the problem of time and financial management, heavily. And I know well the unwritten rule of hostel’s clan and behavior. I felt pity for one of the student across the door of mine. People said he never stays in boarding school and doesn’t know how the hostel style is. I know he just walk his life with his own path but talking too much isn’t good for your body.
The grapevine I heard about the seniors made me feel bad. “Ragging is just for problematics school students”. Well, I don’t believe that anymore after I heard the story told by Rafique and Lut and also the coordinators. The junior-ragging, stealing cases and the students who spends their time practising the reprodustion skills are happening in the university. My expectation that those cases never happen at this very level is totally wrong.
Now, like the others, I am planning to escape the hell MMS.
